Smiles abound at first Verado event

“Pick A Pumpkin,” Verado’s first neighborhood event, was held on a mid-October day, amidst a surge of 70-degree weather and warm sunshine. The event took place in the southeast corner of Verado Park, with a pop-up Pumpkin Patch on hand featuring a variety of pumpkins for homeowners to choose from. As the first event for the neighborhood, our underlying goal was for neighbors to have an opportunity to meet each other. Being on the on-site sales team, gatherings such as these are an incredible outlet for creativity and especially for getting to know who lives in your neighborhood. Nearly 40 homeowners stopped by to say hello and mix and mingle, as well as peruse through our festive treats table. Guests enjoyed an assortment of cupcakes and decorated cookies from Nothing Bundt Cakes and Pastry Perfection, among other fall goodies. With cornstalks, pumpkin garlands and hay bales framing our corner of the park, it was a colorful fall-like gathering that was fun to host, and we’re grateful to be a part of this friendly and growing community.

Smiles abound at an Easter Egg Hunt at Solterra Park


We teamed up with Tahoe Homes to host the first annual Easter Egg Hunt at Solterra Park last Saturday! Nearly 30 children of all ages gathered with their baskets for the brisk morning event. Colorful poms and streamers edged the park, while the trees were decorated with paper lanterns and poms and looked as though they were out of a Dr. Suess storybook. Over 600 eggs filled with wrapped candy were scattered about by Solterra volunteers. The egg hunt was sectioned into two areas offering beginners an easy stroll and older guests a more challenging option. Afterwards, baby goats, lambs and bunnies were on hand to delight everyone throughout the morning. The animals, which regularly attend the Cherry Festival in Emmett, are bottle-fed and thus very friendly. What a fun way to kick-off Easter Weekend!
















Meridian tops America’s Best Places to Live

I love where we live! Meridian tops America’s Best Places to Live, according to 24/7 Wall St., released a few days ago. This honor adds to the growing list of national recognition of the Boise Valley. Low unemployment, housing affordability and ability to live safely were all factors, cited Elise Gould, senior economist with nonprofit think tank the Economic Policy Institute (EPI). Meridian outranked many popular cities including Danbury, CT, Johns Creek, GA, Centennial, CO, and Eagan, MN for the top spot.
