An expanded galley kitchen adds style and space in the Mesa design

3106 E. Ionia Court in SoVi, $244,900: Like fashion, architecture sees its fair share of trends. Tahoe Homes has taken the galley kitchen layout, one where typically the sink and the oven range face each other, and stretched the space so that its not only beautiful, but more than one person can move about easily. The Mesa design was first introduced in Solterra, and has continued to be well-received in the market at SoVi in southwest Meridian. This two-story design is more spacious than one might expect at a glance, with 1,781 s.f.

Two large columns book-end the oversized quartz island and provide a memorable element to this dynamic kitchen.

Custom Alder cabinetry with brushed nickel accents are showcased by the full Subway tiled backsplash and expansive quartz countertops. A gas oven range is paired with a microwave for function and efficiency. A niche off of the garage access serves as a perfect spot to catch outerwear, shoes and kid gear.

A great room overlooks the kitchen and is large enough to accommodate most furniture groupings, as shown here with a large sectional sofa. Lots of natural light pours in through the picture window and patio doors, finished with extra trimwork to frame the views.

A large master bedroom is separated from the rest of the bedrooms on the upper level and feels roomy and spacious with its vaulted ceilings.

3d Tours deliver a realistic virtual experience

Imagine the ability to walk through a property without leaving the comfort of your home? The marked advancements in 3d photography offer exactly that in a surprisingly easy-to-navigate way. It’s proving to be an especially valuable reference for buyers looking to purchase a new construction home that is not quite finished. These tours create the benefit of navigating through a similar model home, previously finished and sometimes decorated, to have a sense of space. We are currently developing our 3d virtual tours for each of our floor plans at SoVi and Verado. As each one is finalized, we post them on the respective websites, as well as linked to the appropriate MLS listing(s). From there it is fed to an unlimited number of real estate websites, including Realtor, Zillow and Trulia.

Viewers can choose to look at a home through Dollhouse or Floor plan views, but the Dollhouse view seems the most interactive to me, with transparent white circles guiding you through the layout. With either format, a light blue circle serves as a visual to let you know where your cursor is. You have the ability to rotate your view entirely around a room, or zoom in for a closer view of a cabinet finish or countertop surface, etc. Here are some screenshots from the Mesa tour:

While the jury is still out, for us at least, if 3d virtual tours can fully replace the value of professional photography on existing homes, these tours are certainly fun!
